Scrap Metal Recycler to Build New Pennsylvania Facility

Alpha Recycling Inc.- one of North America’s largest processors of catalytic converters and scrap metal announced that it has decided to expand its footprints into Pennsylvania. The company has selected Stroudsburg Borough, Monroe County, Pennsylvania as the site of its new processing center.

The site, owned by Re-Earth of Stroudsburg Inc., has three 4,000-square-foot buildings. The new project will renovate all the three existing buildings. In addition, it will add 20,000 square foot to one of the three structures. The site development activities and purchasing of necessary equipment will be funded by the state, said Gov. Tom Wolf. The proposed facility is expected to create around 30 new full-time jobs in the region.

Alpha Recycling plans to invest approximately $4 million into the expansion project. The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has committed to fund the project. This includes a $100,000 Pennsylvania First grant and $60,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits.

The company news release expressed gratitude to Gov. Wolf, the Governor’s Action Team and the Monroe County officials for their sincere efforts in support to the company’s expansion plans. The company is committed to continue expanding, thus creating more opportunities, it added.
