U.S. Raw Steel Production Slumped in the Year-to-Date Period

Nov 13 (LTIT) –The most recent weekly production data published by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) denotes marginal decline in U.S raw steel production.

 

The production totalled 1.862 million net tons during the week ended November 9, 2019. The capability utilization rate was 80.5%. This compares with the production of 1.903 million net tons at a higher capability utilization rate of 81.2% during the corresponding week a year before. Year-on-year, the weekly production recorded marginal decline by 2.2%. When matched with the prior week production of 1.888 million net tons, the weekly output slumped by 1.4%. It must be noted that the mill capability utilization rate was 81.6% in the week ended November 2, 2019.
