Average alumina spot price in China declines to RMB2355/t, while A00 aluminium ingot price touches RMB15000/t level

Aug 5(LTIT) –Following restraints in the past two days at RMB 2,387 per tonne, the average alumina spot price has declined today, on August 4, by RMB 32 per tonne to RMB 2,355 per tonne, found the Shanghai Metals Market. In the central, the alumina price has decreased by RMB 35 per tonne to RMB 2,355 per tonne and that in the North has plunged by RMB 30 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,345 per tonne. In the east, the price has inched down by RMB 15 per tonne to RMB 2,350 per tonne, while that in the south has remained restrained at RMB 2,520 per tonne.

The imported alumina price has decreased by RMB 60 per tonne to RMB 2,365 per tonne. However, the Australian alumina FOB price has remained unchanged at US$273 per tonne.

 

As far as other input costs are concerned, the price of aluminium powder has slipped by RMB 0.10 per kg to stand at RMB 18.55 per kg.

 

The A00 aluminium ingot price, on the other hand, has recorded a hike of RMB 120 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,000 per tonne, as of August 4, according to SMM. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,980 per tonne and RMB 15,020 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 0-40 per tonne, down by RMB 20 per tonne from the previous day.

 

In Foshan, the A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 130 per tonne to RMB 14,960 per tonne, followed by the hike in Chongqing and Shenyang by RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 14,880 per tonne and RMB 14,945 per tonne. In Wuxi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has climbed up by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 14,990 per tonne, in Linyi by RMB 90 per tonne to RMB 14,970 per tonne, and in Hangzhou and Gongyi by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 14,980 per tonne and RMB 14,840 per tonne, respectively. In Tianjin, the A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 14,940 per tonne.

 

Backed on the increase in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloys (A356) has also grown by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 15,600 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 15,550 per tonne and RMB 15,650 per tonne. However, the prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have remained muted, respectively, at RMB 14,000 per tonne and RMB 14,900 per tonne.
