China's Stock Markets Opened Down, Following Falling US Shares

July 24 (LTIT) – Chinese stock markets opened lower after US shares slumped yesterday.

 

The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 3,310.64, down 0.44 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.83 percent to 13,547.81. The ChiNext Price Index started at 2,769.97, down 1.06 percent.

 

US stock markets closed sharply lower yesterday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ended down 1.31 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 2.29 percent, while the S&P 500 Index dropped 1.23 percent.
